Day 2 of 30: Space to Create

30-Day Simple Kitchen Reboot

[dropcap style=”font-size: 60px; color: #71CCD5;”] Y[/dropcap]ears ago one of my meal planning members told me that the main reason she hated cooking was because her kitchen was always a mess.

So in order to cook she first had to clean up.

As you can imagine, she wasn’t cooking as much as she’d like.

But it doesn’t have to be like this!

Reclaiming your kitchen isn’t necessarily going to be that hard.

Or take loads of time.

Let’s do this!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN TODAY:

  • The benefits of having space to create.

4 Benefits of Creating Space in your Kitchen:

1. Saves time.

Being able to walk in to the kitchen and start cooking without having to first clear space a game changer.

Especially when you’re in a hurry.

2. Saves you money.

Having space already cleared makes it much easier to get started.

Which means you’re more likely to cook rather than thinking ‘it’s too hard’ and ordering take out.

3. Makes you healthier.

We’ll be delving in to nutrition in week 3, but you don’t need a PhD in dietetics to know that eating more home cooked whole foods is better for your health.

4. Makes cooking less of a ‘chore’.

In the 7-Day Meal Planning Kick Starter we discussed the benefits of seeing cooking as fun rather than work.

It’s much easier to keep thinking of cooking as fun if there isn’t a load of crap to clean away before you start.

SUMMARY:

The key benefits of having space in your kitchen are:

  • Saves time
  • Saves money
  • Improves health
  • Helps make cooking fun!

ACTIVITY

STEP 1. Take a look around your kitchen space.

Do you have at least one area where you can chop and prepare food?

If yes, great! You get an early mark today. 🙂

If no, see step 2.

STEP 2. Just clear one space for chopping and preparing food, preferably close to your stove top.

It doesn’t have to be huge.

You don’t have to spring clean your whole kitchen.

Just this one little space.
