A quick overview of the content in Habit 3 – Love Your Veg.
I love veg, so this is my favourite habit. But I know a love of vegetables doesn’t come naturally to many people. Especially children.
The thing I’ve learned over the years of ridding myself of my vegetable phobias (hello brussels sprouts & peas) is if you don’t like a particular veg, it probably means you haven’t yet had it prepared in a way that works for both you and the vegetable.
For example, my Mum used to boil brussels sprouts and just the smell of them was enough to turn even the most adventurous eater away.
So for years I thought I ‘hated’ brussels sprouts.
And then one day I had them finely shaved and sauteed with bacon and garlic… a complete revelation which left me hungry for more sprouts. And the realisation that I just wasn’t a ‘boiled’ brussels sprouts type of girl.
